Our favourite things to do in Mersea are cute beach walks, pub stops and visiting the seafood restaurants for fresh seafood platters and their famous Mersea Oysters.   

Great places for fresh seafood straight from the boat are The Company Shed and Dukes Seafood which are both in West Mersea. If you head over to West Mersea, you will find more lovely beach walks, cute beach huts and lots of nice places to eat/drink. You can also get boat trips or go crabbing from the jetty.

If you fancy something a bit different, we'd really recommend getting the short ferry ride over to Brightlingsea which has a beautiful wine bar by the water, the perfect pit stop before getting the ferry back to Mersea which is only a ten minute boat ride away! 

Other places include Mersea Island Vineyard which is great for Wine tasting, tours and vineyard picnics, or The Peldon Rose which is a picturesque restaurant just outside of Mersea that sells lovely homemade food. 

If your feeling adventurous, Mersea Aqua Park is a five minute drive from the wedding venue. - You can go paddle boarding or brave the inflatable adventure playground floating on the salt water lake.  

If the weathers nice, you will probably find us at the beach on Saturday after Brunch at Mersea Barns.
